Waterford successes  in Cork

On  Saturday and Sunday last athletes from Waterford clubs figured prominently at the Leevale Open Senior and Juvenile Sports as they won several events On Saturday at the Senior section Ferrybank AC winners were as follows; Men 400 Metres Hurdles, Thomas Barr 53.21 seconds and Michael Dowling in the 3000 Metres in 8.42.48, Chris Russell was second in the 400 Metres in 49.01. Cara Kennedy won  the Hammer
with56.63 Metres and Sorcha Murphy, was second in the High Jump with 1.65Metres. For West Wateford AC brother and sister Thomas and Lisa Houlihan both won Pole Vaults in 4.20 Metres and 2.80 Metres respectively and Clare Collins was third in the High Jump with 1.60 Metres

Juveniles Also

On Sunday the following juveniles won; Victor Eddy, Waterford  u 10 80M, Orlaith O'Brien u 14 Shot Putt, Aoife Keena u 9 Ball Throw both Ferrybank, Shane Monagle Tramore  u 13 Hurdles, Cardach Daly u 11 80M, Cormac Mahony 300 m u 11 and Tholm Reddy 800 m u 16, all West Waterford, second placings went to Gwyneth Blair u 15 Hurdles, Jack Corcoran u 9 Sprint and u 10 300 M both Waterford, Fiona Egboko, Ferrybank u 12 Shot Putt, Shane Monagle Tramore u 13 Sprint, and third placing's to Chloe Farrell u 13 Long Jump and Hurdles, Stephen Walsh100 m u 16, Ejiro Ojoh u 12  80 m, Fiona Egboko u 12 80 M and High Jump, Owen Kenny u 13 Hurdles all Ferrybank., Hugo Blair Waterford u13  600 m, Shane Monagle u 13 Long Jump. In Relay events West Waterford were second in the Boys u 12 and third in Boys u 16, Tramore were second in Boys u 14 and Waterford third in Boys u 10.


Butlerstown 10 KM on Friday

 On Friday next April 20 th the 30 th Annual Butlerstown 10 KM and aone lap fun run or walk are on at the usual location near "The Holy Cross Lounge" on the main Waterford / Kilmeaden  road a few miles from Waterford City starting at 7 pm. Its race 2 in the Ger Wyley Sports Summer Series. Entries at Butlerstown GAA Centre just across  the road from the Lounge, the proceeds go to the Waterford Alzheimer Society and Butlerstown GAA Club..

Waterford to Tramore

 Annual Waterford to Tramore Race 7.5 Miles  sponsored by Blue Wall Technology coming up on Saturday May 5 th at 7 pm from near City Hall,Waterford entries now on Run Ireland.. Please note if you are participating to make arrangements with someone to take your clothes to Tramore for you and arrange a lift back to Waterford if you need tocollect a car after the race. The full list of races in the Ger Wyley Sports Series are on the West Waterford AC website. Coming up on Friday April 27th at 6:30pm, Glor na Mara Schools 4 Miles Road Race in Tramore.  Some April Fixtures

This week end Friday and Saturday April 20/21 Irish Universities T&FChampionships, AIT Athlone,  Sunday next Apr 22 AAI Road Relay Championships, Raheny. Apr 28/29 AAI Congress Cavan. The Munster Junior and under 23 Championships and Juvenile Combined events are in Castleisland on Monday May 7 th.

Waterford Primary School Sports

The Date for this years Waterford City Primary School Sports is Thursday April 26 th at the RSC at 11 am. The event is organised by Ferrybank AC and is confined to Primary Schools in Waterford City and surrounding areas in East Waterford.Contact number is 087 6889330.

Tramore and District Primary School Sports

On Friday April 27th the Tramore and District Primary School Sports is at the RSC at 12.30 pm .It will take in the schools in Tramore ,Dunhill and Fenor. Both of these fixtures are qualifiers for County finals later on.

Secondary School Fixtures

Waterford Championships RSC Wednesday April 25 th, East Munster Girls,
 RSC Wednesday, May 2nd, East Munster Boys, RSC Wednesday, May 9th,Munster Finals Saturday, May 19th Cork It Track.

WLRFM Waterford Viking Marathon
