Run for Life 10 Miles on Sunday

In the City on Sunday next October 14 th the 10 Miles Run for Life
Road Race has a 12 noon start at the Clock Tower on the Quay Waterford
and will head down the Quay, The Mall out Parnell St, Manor St, out
Tramore Road to Ballindud Roundabout turn left and over to
Williamstown Roundabout near Solas Centre turn right out to the Gael
Scoil  corner in Ballygunner turn left down to Waterford/Dunmore Road
at Beckett's and then left and straight in the main road to the to
finish inside the Peoples Park off Park Road , a very simple coarse to
follow but different to last year.Registration will take place at the
Solas Centre, Williamstown in Waterford City up to Saturday October 13
th from 12 noon to 8 pm. Full details of course etc on Run for Life

County Championships continue in Abbeyside

Another list of County Cross Country Championships are on the
programme for next Sunday October 14 th at St Augustine's College
Grounds Abbeyside and they start at 12 noon. The races are for boys
and girls under 9,11,13,15 and 17 with individual and team prizes. The
first event of the day will be the girls u 9 and it will be followed
by the boys under 9, all the races will be run off very quickly and
the fixture should be over in an hour or so. All clubs are asked to
send plenty of athletes along.

County Senior titles for Hogan and Walsh

St Augustine's College Abbeyside was the venue on Sunday last for the
20 th Annual West Waterford Open Cross Country fixture which
incorporated the county senior and junior championships for men and
women.The overall winner of the men's 8 km race was Sean Tobin Clonmel
with James McCarthy East Cork second and Paddy Hogan Ferrybank third
and Hogan took the county senior title, with Rory O'Donnell Ferrybank
second and Damien Murphy West Waterford third and Murphy won the
county junior title from Richard Lucas Ferrybank and John Skehan KCK.
West Waterford AC won the team title the team being Des Feeney, Damien
Murphy, Rory Moloney and Ray Hahessy. The ladies 4 km was won by
Corina Walsh West Waterford with Niamh O'Sullivan An Riocht second and
Bronagh Kearns St Senan's third, Corina Walsh won the County title
with Clare Grant Waterford AC second. The Following are the winners of
the age groups in the open race; o 35 Roy Fahy East Cork, o 40 Kenny
Curran Ballynonty, 045 Martin Gleeson Nenagh, o 50 Colin Lyons West
Waterford, Junior Damien Murphy West Waterford.

Sandis wins Cork to Cobh

There was a West Waterford one, two in the Cork to Cobh 15 miles road
race on Sunday last. In a huge field Sandis Bralitis won in a time of
79 minutes 36 seconds and Ravis Zakis was second in 81.15.

Ballyduff 5 miles

 Over 200 men, women and children competed in the Ballyduff Lower GAA
Club's 5 miles run and walk on Saturday last in glorious weather
conditions around the Ballyduff area. The overall winner of the run
was David Cunningham Waterford AC in 29 minutes 26 seconds, Owen
Whelan was second in  29.49 and Brian Cuddihy was third in 30.04,
First lady home was Sylvia Malone Waterford AC in 31.30, Mags Kirwan
Kill was second in 32.05 and Joan Mahony Waterford AC was third 33.54.
The event was excellently organised by Ballyduff GAA club and it was a
most enjoyable affair

Munster  Cross Country Championships Dates

October 21 st Juvenile Even Age boys and girls under 10,12,14,16,18
and  u 23 and Novice Beaufort Co Kerry, November 11 th Juvenile Uneven
with Intermediate Waterford ( venue still to be decided ) On Sunday
October 21 st
there's a 10 km road race in Clonmel at 3 pm.

County Fixture

November 4th ( B )  County  Juvenile Championships u 9, 11 13, 15 Boys
and Girls In these races medals for first 6 home in each race (no team
prizes). 12 noon. Athletes placed first,second or third in ( A
)Championships not eligible or those on winning scoring team at the (
A )Championships
