Munster Fixture at WIT on Sunday

 A big attraction is on the outskirts of Waterford City on Sunday next
November 11 th. Its the Munster u 9,11,13,15,17,19 Juvenile Cross
Country Championships as well as the Intermediate Men and Women's
Championships and they take place in WIT Grounds, Carriganore on the
outskirts of the City at 12 noon. Hundreds of athletes from all over
the province will be competing including many from clubs in Waterford
City and County. Lots of help will be required from members of local
clubs on Saturday morning next at 11 am at WIT to prepare the venue
for Sunday's fixture and on Sunday again stewards will be required.
All Clubs have been individually notified.

All Ireland Cross Country Dates

Sunday November 25 th Woodies DIY AAI Inter Counties and Juvenile u
12,14,16,18 Cross Country,Tattersalls, Ratoath, Co. Meath, Sun 9 th
December Novice and Juvenile u 11,13,15,17,19, Cross Country,
Adamstown, Co. Wexford. The European Cross Country Championships will
be in Budapest the same day.

County ( B ) Juvenile Cross Country

A very small entry was received for the County ( B ) Juvenile Cross
Country Championships in St Augustine's College Abbeyside on Sunday
last and the following were the results.Girls u 9 1 Roisin Quinn An

Winter League

This year’s Paddy Byrne Annual  Winter  League kicks off on Thursday
next November 8 th, It will run for a total of 13 Thursday nights,
with a break for Santa and the New Year. Registration is at 6.00 pm
each night for the first few nights to get everyone registered in
time, with the run starting at 7 pm from the RSC in Waterford City,
all competing are asked to obey the stewards and only cross at
locations where stewards direct you to cross.

USA

The American regional Inter Collegiate Cross country Championships are
on this Friday November 9 th in Connecticut and Shane Quinn and other
Irish athletes will be competing.

Waterford AC Half Marathon

The course for Waterford Half Marathon on Saturday December 1 st is
now finalised and is as follows; Start outside Kelliher Electrical on
Tramore Road then head straight out main Tramore Road to Pickardstown
Cross, turn sharp left and back in Old Tramore Road straight in as far
as Ballycordra to  turn left across narrow road over by Waterford
Transport to Ballindud on to main Tramore Road in then on the right
hand side to Ballindud Roundabout and then all will be crossed over to
head  in towards the city on the left hand side turning near
Kingfisher coming back up footpath to entrance to Nature Park from
Tramore road in then for a full lap around the Park and then back to
finish at Kingfisher. Full entry details etc on Waterford AC website.

Race Walking

A Race Walking Masterclass will take place at Cork IT Track on
Saturday 17th November  and in attendance will be Olympic athlete
Robert Heffernan .Don’t miss out on the chance to learn more about
Race Walking from Robert Heffernan, Liam O Reilly and renowned Spanish
coach Jacinto Garzon, our special international guest coach.This
masterclass is open to all athletes and coaches aged 10+. Athletes
from clubs/schools all over Ireland are welcome to attend.10am:
Registration at CIT Track in the main athletics stand and the cost is

Sympathy

Two people very well known in Waterford athletic circles suffered
bereavements recently. The death took place of Mrs Bridie Harte P. O
Barrack St Waterford mother of Declan Harte who is very much involved
in the road running scene and Mrs Maisie Walsh, Churchquarter,
Modeligo mother of well known West Waterford AC athlete Corina Walsh
also passed away.All in the sport send their deepest sympathy to both
of them and their families.
