County Championships Day 2 on Sunday
Starting at 11 am sharp the County Track and Field Championships
second and final section is at the RSC on Sunday next with numerous
events for juvenile, ,junior and senior athletes as well as a few
master's events. Full programme is with all clubs long ago and again
lots of help required to run off the Championships efficiently. All
athletes competing must get a number on the day before competing.
Another fixture on Sunday are the AAI games in Santry Stadium Dublin
where Waterford athletes will be competing.
National League
For the first time for years a section of the National League was held
at the RSC on Sunday last and teams from many parts of the country
competed including Ferrybank women and men's teams. For the women it
was a very good day and they should be well placed going into round 2.
They had wins by Kelly Proper long jump, Neasa Murphy high jump,
Dearbhaill Ivan walk and the 4 x 100 m relay team. Despite having two
wins in the men's through Sean Archer in the triple jump and Paul
Murphy in the 400 metres they will find it hard to progress.
