Northern title for Jessie
In Belfast on Saturday last in miserable wet and windy conditions the
Northern Ireland Track and Field Championships were held and Jessie
Barr Ferrybank AC easily won the 400 metres hurdles in 60.11 seconds
which was well outside her best time for the distance
Munster Juvenile
In Ennis last week end the Munster under 9 to 13 Championships were
staged and athletes from Waterford AC and Ferrybank AC did well.For
Waterford there were wins by Andrew Scanlon in the under 9 turbo
javelin and Cathal Scanlon u13 javelin,Victory Eddy was second in the
60 metres u12 and bronze medals went the following athletes, under
13, Garvan Blair high jump, Sarah Jacob shot putt,
Emer Mc Glynn 600 metres, Shane Cawley u 13 shot putt and Jack
Corcoran was third in the long jump u11. and Evan Hayes 3rd in long
jump u 12. In team competitions theboys u9 turbo javelin team were
second and there were thirds for the
u11 60 metres duo, u10 turbo javelin, u11 long jump. For Ferrybank
Praise Oweye won the long jump u 12, and was second in the high jump,
Daniel Goff won the u 9 long jump and he together with Niall Curham
won the team in the same event, the boys relay team were second and
Kylie Heinen was third in the high jump u 13. For Finisk valley Corey
Scanlon was second in the long jump u 9 and their team were 3 rd in
the same event
Little South Run
300 competed in the Little South 4 miles Road Race in Kilmacow last
Sunday and the following were the results. Men 1 Brian Maher ( KCH )

Deadman's 5 Miles
On Friday last 150 competed in the Deadman's 5 miles road race in
Carrick on Suir in miserable conditions and it turned out to be a very
good race up front with four athletes in contention going in to the
closing stages. The strongest finisher was Niall Sheil St Killian's
Wexford who won in 26 minutes and 41 seconds, Noel Murphy Waterford
had a fine run to finish second in 26.47 and Alban Coughlan Crusaders
was third in 26.50.. .The clear cut winner in the ladies section was
Martina O'Dwyer Carrick on Suir in 29.53,Angela Mc Cann Clonmel was
second in 3155 and Mary Molloy was third in 32.27. The event was race
3 of the Outfield Sports 3 County Challenge and organised by Carrick
Road Runners
Six compete in Geneva
Six athletes from Ferrybank AC are competing in Geneva in Switzerland
on Saturday next. The are Kelly Proper,Thomas and Jessie Barr, Ben
Kiely, Niamh Whelan and Niamh Mc Nicol.
Munster Championships
Two Munster Championship fixtures are on at Cork IT track this week
end. On Saturday the juvenile relays for the under 12 to19 age groups
have an 11 am start. Then on Sunday the Munster Senior and Masters
Championships have a 9.30 am start for field events and an 11 am start
for track events and many athletes from Waterford clubs will compete.

Two Road races this week end.
On .Friday next June 13 th the Old Still Bar. Clashmore 5 miles Road
Race is another leg of the Ger Wyley Sports Series and it starts at 8
pm and entries will be taken in Clashmore from 6.45 pm Sunday next
June 15 th sees the second Annual Fenor 15 km starting at 12 noon and
this year there is also a 5 km run. Full details on Fenor15.com,
