Our two representatives on the Irish team for the prestigious World University Games held in Kazan, Russia last week did Ireland proud! Jessie Barr had to contend with monsoon conditions for her heat of the 400m hurldles but did so with ease qualifying for the final on Wednesday. Drawn in the difficult lane 8 , Jessie gave her all and finished in 8th position in the final, a superb achievement. Niamh Whelan again qualified easily from her heat in the 200m on Tuesday and on Wednesday produced a superb run in the semi final running 23.68s and just missed the final by .04. Congratulations to both girls on performing so well in a global championships.
